Whistleblower report

Belgium's whistleblower law of 28 November 2022, requires companies with 250 or more employees to provide a channel to report wrongdoing and fraud. The law was created by a Belgian transposition of the 'EU whistleblower protection directive'.

Following this legislation, we at Real Estate Experts have taken the necessary steps to provide this legally required notification point.

Who can file a report through this whistleblowing app?

Only persons who are in a work-related context vis-a-vis Real Estate Experts can make a report, including at least:

1. persons having the status of employees of Real Estate Experts within the meaning of Article 45(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, including civil servants;
2. Persons with the status of self-employed persons within the meaning of Article 49 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, who carry out assignments for IDEWE;
3. the members of the General Assembly and of the Board of Real Estate Experts and persons belonging to the management or supervisory body of Real Estate Experts , including volunteers and paid or unpaid trainees;
4. any person working under the supervision and direction of Real Estate Experts .
5. persons with a now terminated working relationship with Real Estate Experts , if they report information about breaches obtained in the now terminated working relationship.
6. persons whose working relationship with Real Estate Experts has yet to commence, in case information on infringements was obtained during the recruitment procedure or other pre-contractual negotiations.

Who cannot file a complaint through this whistleblowing app?

1. Companies affiliated to Real Estate Experts , have a customer relationship with Real Estate Experts and cannot file a whistleblower complaint with Real Estate Experts.
2. Employees of companies affiliated to Real Estate Experts cannot file a whistleblower complaint with Real Estate Experts.

For complaints about services provided by Vastgoedexperts, member companies of Vastgoedexperts (and their employees) may submit a complaint about services via the general e-mail address info@vastgoedexperts.be or to the regional offices of Vastgoedexperts (see website). Real estate experts handles these complaints in accordance with a calibrated ISO procedure.

Would you like to report a suspicion or finding of malpractice and fraud? Then you can do so by registering via this link: Signal. You can also choose to register anonymously. Once you have made a report, you will receive a token enabling you to track the status. In addition, you will always receive confirmation of receipt within seven calendar days. Our company lawyer examines and handles every report impartially. Within three months of receipt, we will inform you of the steps we have taken.

The confidentiality and protection of you, the reporter, are essential components of this new legislation. Our whistleblowing channel therefore guarantees confidentiality for every report. Your identity will not be released by our in-house lawyer in this process and you will not be harmed in any way by your report.
