Flemish government adjusts timing for EPC of common parts. For apartment buildings with at least 15 residential units, deadline of 1/1/2022 is retained. Smaller buildings get 1 or 2 years postponement.
Under current regulations, every apartment building must have an EPC for the common parts by 1 January 2022.
The corona pandemic caused this EPC to be much delayed. On the initiative of Flemish Energy Minister Zuhal Demir, this timing is now being adjusted.
There will be a phasing according to the size of the apartment building. For the largest apartment buildings (at least 15 residential units), the obligation will remain in force by 1 January 2022. For medium-sized (5 to 14 residential units), the obligation shifts to 1 January 2023 and for the smallest (2 to 4 residential units), the obligation shifts to 1 January 2024. This will make it feasible for everyone to have an EPC on time.

For us, updating these regulations does not change much.
We believe it is important that all owners of an apartment building TIME have a valid EPC inspection certificate for the common parts. That way, you will always be in order and avoid a possible fine.
We are therefore committed to scheduling and implementing all applications already submitted this year so that you can concentrate on other matters with peace of mind. For those who have not yet submitted an application, we encourage you to do so quickly to ensure that the inspection can be carried out in time.
If you have any questions about these regulations or our way of working, be sure to contact us at info@vastgoedexperts.com
We will be happy to help you get this inspection right.
